In the past year, EULIS, the Permanent Committee for Cadastre (PCC), Eurogeographics and ELRA drafted an agreement on a common vision on cooperation on Cadastre and Land Registry. The agreement was signed on the 30th of November 2012, during the PCC–conference at Cyprus.
On behalf of EULIS, Gerard Leenders (centre back in the picture) signed the agreement, together with representatives from the 3 other organisations: Neoclis Neocleous, Julius Ernst and Wim Louwman.
The four organisations will establish a close cooperation to achieve their common goals and will work together to: – Raise awareness among decision makers that Cadastral and Land Registration information and services are fundamental for protecting and prioritising legal rights, secure land tenure, reliable land value, efficient land use and sustainable land development functions. – Promote that Cadastres and Land Registries provide reliable and authoritative information, as well as, state of the art services, meeting the needs of private and public users. – Cooperate to facilitate the communication with European Institutions to promote our common vision.
In the framework of the PCC conference, Gerard Leenders made a presentation on EULIS and showed in a live demonstration the achievements of the LINE-project.
